Community Support Worker

We are currently only hiring staff that have received the Covid-19 vaccination.

The Community Support Worker provides and facilitates program opportunities that are conducive to the individual’s life skill development, community inclusion and independence. Supports the individual’s vocational goals and promotes skill growth toward gainful employment if so desired by the individual.

Hours of work: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Wage: 24.12

  • To work in a team and/or individual environment with the needs of the individuals supported by NEXUS as the primary focus.
  • To develop and facilitate opportunities based on the needs and goals set by the individual and their support network.
  • To facilitate community inclusion in a variety of settings in our community and surrounding area.
  • To complete documentation on a regular basis that outlines individual’s success, needs and or further support that may be required.
  • Maintaining documentation/records pertaining to expenditures made for programming needs.
  • To participate in meetings, training opportunities and service planning as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older;
  • Must hold a valid class 5 (or better) drivers license – drivers abstract required;
  • Related experience working with adults with diverse-abilities is considered an asset;
  • Basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties as required;
  • First Aid (Level 1)
  • Criminal record check (will be performed by NEXUS upon hire)
