Our Team

Our Senior Leadership Team oversees the day to day operations of NEXUS Community Support Society. With diverse backgrounds in social services, business and healthcare, our team works together to lead our staff in creating inclusive community for all abilities.

Brandon began his work with the organization in 2009. From then on, Brandon has worked in various roles within the agency; most notably as the Society’s first Manager of Human Resources and Labour Relations. Brandon was appointed as the Agency’s CEO on January 1, 2019. From this point, Brandon has focussed on organizational development, sustainability and community development. In 2021, Brandon lead the organization through the amalgamation process between the Cranbrook Society for Community Living and the Creston and District Society for Community Living. He continues to liaise with the Board on the future of NEXUS and how we can continue to best serve our communities. On a provincial level, Brandon currently serves as the President of the BC CEO Network – an association that brings social service leaders together for three main purposes: to facilitate a collective voice; to promote effective business practices; and, to promote leadership development and mutual support. Brandon is a passionate advocate for the social service sector. He is also keen to collaborate with other social service leaders to strengthen the sector and advance best practices for all. In his personal life, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family while enjoying the outdoors. Brandon is a proud member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and envisions a future where we are all treated equally and where we all belong; thus his drive to be part of the continued social movement within our communities and our province as a whole.

Brittany joined our Leadership Team in 2019 as part of our finance department. She has a passion for accounting which shines through in the work she does. Brittany continues to learn how unique and diverse the Social Service Sector is. She works alongside our Program Managers and other Admin staff to ensure our payroll and finance practices meet the needs of our employees and our organization at large. She continues to streamline and modernize our processes so as to meet ever demanding time constraints.

Steven joined our team in 2007. He has worked in many of our programs with a focus on Employment Services and Community Inclusion. In 2014 Steven became the Supervisor of Vocational Services where he worked with staff, persons served, their families and other stakeholders to ensure those with diverse-abilities get to access their community to the fullest. In 2018 Steven became the Manager of Community Inclusion and Employment Services. He worked with his teams to ensure persons served receive the best supports possible to maximize their potential. In 2020 Steven accepted the role of Director of Operations. With this, Steven will work with program managers and supervisors to ensure NEXUS is providing the best services possible to those we support and their families. Steven will focus on service delivery, staff development and program growth.

Elaina joined our Senior Leadership Team in 2019 as our Director of Quality Assurance. Elaina is not new to our organization or the Social Service Sector in general. She has a diverse background within our sector both in B.C. and Alberta. She has worked in staffed residential services in a wide variety of capacities – from direct service delivery to leadership. In more recent years, Elaina has worked in administrative roles – many years of which she worked directly with policy development, occupational health and safety and accreditation. We are pleased to have Elaina as part of our Senior Leadership Team. Elaina’s past experience, along with her passion, drives us to provide safe and quality services. As part of our amalgamation, Elaina has taken on the role of Director of Administration; overseeing all administrative, health and safety, accreditation and continuous quality improvement processes.

Sheena joined our leadership team in August 2021 as our Director of Human Resources. Sheena has a passion for working with, and advocating for, individuals. This passion motivated her to obtain a Masters in Clinical Social Work. She is committed to ensuring that all employees have the training, education and support to provide quality care to persons served. Sheena believes education and training have the ability to empower employees to become their best selves.

Johnny is responsible for the look and feel of NEXUS communications. With a diverse professional background, Johnny specializes in developing user-focused materials that are easy to read and navigate – specifically customized training manuals and resources. Having spent nearly a decade in the post-secondary sector, Johnny’s enthusiasm and passion for advancing meaningful initiatives make him a perfect fit for the social service sector.
