Program Manager – Residential Services – Creston

The Program and Services Manager is responsible for managing assigned program(s) and staff, as well as overseeing the operations of assigned residential homes. Managers respect individual’s rights and treat each individual with the same dignity they wish to be treated with. Managers assist individuals to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible.

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours/week

Salary: $78,585 per year

  • Managers actively participate in the development and implementation of sound programming and services that both fulfill the needs of resident(s) and meet the provisions of the Funding Body.
  • Managers oversee various aspects of residential programs including: program planning, record keeping and evaluation; staff direction and supervision; new hire orientation; conflict resolution; policy administration and enforcement; resident health and social needs; program resources etc.
  • Managers assist HR during selection, onboarding and screening of new employees.
  • Managers monitor and report on building and grounds maintenance needs.
  • Managers are expected to liaise with families and other agencies supporting individuals as required.
  • Managers need to be able to recognize, analyze, and advise staff during potential.
  • emergency situations, such as clients’ aggressive behaviour, to ensure no harm comes to the client and/or the public.  Knowledge of behaviour modification techniques (MANDT) that can be used to diffuse situations as needed and control aggressive or disruptive behaviour is required and will be offered internally.
  • Managers are responsible for ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained.

Requirements

Qualifications

Diploma and/or Degree in a related health/human/social service field is preferred;

One to three years in an excluded management role; or a combination of experience, education and training.

Related experience working with adults with diverse-abilities is considered an asset.

Adept computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties as required
